Dr Ketan Karlekar (BDS Guys Hospital 1999)

Principal Dental Surgeon

Qualifying from Guys Hospital, London, in 1999, Dr Karlekar spent many years working in General Practice in St Albans, before coming to the Winslow Dental Practice. He provides all aspects of dental care with special interests in Crowns and Bridges and Endodontics (root canal work) and has completed many advanced courses in these fields.

He has also been teaching Restorative Dentistry for many years at Guys Hospital in London as an Honorary Clinical Teacher. He has an amazing enthusiasm and passion for dentistry resulting in him being able to provide the most up-to-date treatments for his patients.

The practice also provides dental implants in-house and benefits from a highly experienced implantologist who provides a full start to finish implant service, replacing missing teeth or implant supported bridges and dentures.

Dr Muntazir Ali (BDS Glasgow 1989)

Muntazir graduated as a dentist in 1989 from the University of Glasgow. His career progressed and he has spent the last 10 years in practice solely providing dental implant related treatments to many practices. We are delighted to have him as a visiting part of the team.

Having taken the opportunity to join the Winslow Dental Practice he brings with him his gentle caring manner and his expertise in dental implantology. He shares with the rest of the practice a keen interest in preventive dentistry and promoting long lasting solutions to age old problems of missing teeth due to disease, trauma or stabilising dentures with implants. He provides a comprehensive dental implant service at reasonable and fixed costs. In addition to being committed to excellence in all aspects of his work, he is happy to receive referrals from colleagues and patients alike.

Muntazir is committed to postgraduate learning and in 2005 completed the advanced certificate course in Implantology from the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute in London.

Lisa is our highly experienced hygienist and longest standing member of the practice. Qualifying in 1988 at the Army School of Dental Hygiene she has been at the practice since 1994. She has a gentle and caring approach and is very good with nervous patients. As a practice dedicated to prevention, Lisa is able to professionally clean your teeth and show you the best way to keep your teeth and gums free of plaque. She will also provide advice and guidance on diet and prevention of tooth decay.

Sue is our experienced and senior dental nurse in the practice. She joined the practice in 1997 and in 1998 gained her National Certificate in Dental Nursing. She will be well known to many of our patients.

Laura is our experienced receptionist and your first point of contact when you visit the practice. Whether you are a new patient, or an existing one, she has a wealth of experience to assist you and will be pleased to answer any questions you may have with regards to your dental procedures as well as administrational matters.
